24-hour Mountain Bike Race Germany 2008

On the 9th and 10th August 2008 the metapeople & metaapes MTB Team met the challenge to defeat the hills, downhills and forest tracks in the Landschaftspark of Duisburg, Germany, 24 hours long.

An eight man company team and a four man mixed team started under the names of metapeople and metaapes.
At the end of the MTB Race both teams, which are sponsored by the metapeople GmbH, metaapes GmbH and www.mtb-blog.de, were standing on place 13 of the particular category. This is a great average by 20 attended teams in the category "eight man company" and 36 attended four man mixed teams.

"Bike around the clock", the motto of the main sponsor FOCUS Bikes, demanded it all from our teams. The Race was affected by sun, rain and mud. Nonetheless, the buzz and the motivation were still standing throughout the whole weekend and about the 70 (4 man team) and 71 (8 man team) driven rounds.The best average-time for one round was 17.07,07 minutes in the eight man team, the fastest round was 16.12,3 minutes. The four man team drove its fastest round in 17.09,5 minutes.

After this great achievement of all bikers and the interest to meet the challenge once again, the metapeople & metaapes MTB team is preparing for the next 24h MTB Event in 2009, now.
