Review of the OMD in 2007
The recent online marketing fair in Dusseldorf brought not only the organizers of the OMD an increase of 40% but also metapeople itself benefited from the influx of visitors to the two-day fair. The cosy furnished lounge area allowed metapeople to have interesting and important discussions with clients and potential customers. At this point metapeople wishes to give heartfelt thanks to their customers and potential clients for a good time.
Compared with the previous year of 2006, an increase of 65% of trade visitors was recorded. The OMD organizers should take pleasure from the active interest of the numerous exhibitors who came not only from Germany but from other European countries too. Just 10% of the 263 exhibitions were from international exhibitors.
Over 1000 trade visitors from overseas helped establish the OMD finally within German borders as a leading convention fair for digital marketing in Europe. Also a proportion of speakers were from all over the world, the speeches in Congress and Arena simultaneously translated into English. This year the "Arena" was introduced for the first time and met with positive approval from three-quarters of the visitors.
An aim for the future development of the OMD exhibition would be to increase the number of international exhibitors according to a survey carried out by CBC (Claus Bühs Consulting). It is highly expected that Great Britain especially will be a trendsetter within Europe, in addition to Germany. Further information can be found on the website of OMD 2007.
